1. Customer responsibility
Your use of services is at your own risk. You are responsible for maintaining independent, current and restorable backups of all files, databases, configurations, logs, email, applications and customer data hosted under your account.
2. No default backup reliance
Unless a written order specifically includes managed backups, backup storage or disaster recovery, StreamData Networks does not guarantee backups for VPS, dedicated servers or services purchased by you.
3. Dedicated server backups
Dedicated server customers must not assume provider-side backups exist. You should maintain backups on separate systems, separate storage accounts or a safe off-server location.
4. VPS backups
VPS snapshots, images or templates, where available, are convenience features and may not replace proper application-level and database-level backup strategy.
5. No compensation for data loss
StreamData Networks is not responsible for lost, inaccurate, incomplete, corrupted or outdated data, regardless of cause, unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise.
6. Backup testing
You should test restoration regularly. A backup that has never been restored should not be treated as reliable production protection.
7. Security of backups
You are responsible for encrypting sensitive backups, protecting backup credentials, rotating keys and limiting access to backup locations.
8. Cancellation and suspension
Before cancellation, suspension, migration or service expiry, download and verify all needed data. Service termination may make hosted data unavailable.
9. Recommended practice
Use at least one off-server backup, one recent restore point and one documented restore procedure. Critical workloads should also keep versioned database dumps and configuration exports.
